I needed to hear this today. January birthdays are over. A new month with intentional eating decisions will happen this month ahead! Thank you, Sarah.
Did you switch out wheat flour for amaranth/nontraditional “flour” or did you stay away from flours completely? Did you add lots of veges/cheese or change your diet otherwise? were you thinking about your omissions all the time? I feel so much better when i cut wheat out of my diet (and my knees don’t scream at night), but sometimes fall back on quick and easy pasta. Enjoyed the podcast. Intentional great word.
I avoided flours completely. I didn’t really make a lot of other changes – I just ate more of what was on the list of things I wanted to eat. I almost never eat pasta because I don’t like the glucose spike so I didn’t have to manage that urge. 🙂
Really appreciated this one, Sarah!!!! I need to figure out “how to avoid sugar – and flour ” ! I do have to take my hubby into consideration and that’s a whole ‘nother story . . .
Avoiding it is very easy – you just don’t put it in your mouth! The hard part is dealing with the urges and feelings that come up when you do this 🙂
I was on Weight Watchers years ago and we kept a diary of what we ate, plus we had a checklist for each day so we got enough fruits and veggies etc. I rarely had foods with any sugar but we could have a slice of bread every day. Once I tasted something sweet I really didn’t like it that much. I do have occasional sweets now but I can control it much more. And good for you! Especially with exercise too. That’s a habit I do enjoy!
Thank you!
