This was such a good podcast! It absolutely hit all my pressure points and found some I didn’t know I had!!! Thank you!
How do you declutter deceased in laws stuff?? Family is all fighting with each other… we purchased the family home prior to his Dad’s death and offered for family to come get stuff then, no one did! Now after 3 years they want to come go through my home!! I don’t want them in my house, HELP!
You made the offer and they declined. Remind them of this – and if it’s your husbands family members, then he really should tell them this – unless you are happy to be the “bad” guy. I am happy to be the bad guy in my husbands family because they all get wound up about stuff they want, want done, etc but do not help my husband physically or financially – so I put my foot down and say no – and my hubby is glad for me to do so! You are under no obligation to let them come into YOUR home now, just as they would not you come and rummage through their homes. But, is there stuff you WANT them to come and get? If so, box it up, set it aside, put in garage or one room you will allow access to and then give a time limit of when they need to come and pick it up. Stick to your guns – you can do hard things, because I suspect you already have!
Enjoyed this!
